X allows porn and graphic violence on the open feed. There's no real parent mode — these settings are the best you can do.

Do this, in order

    Settings and privacy → Privacy and safety

    On the kid's account.
  2. 2

    Content you see → Sensitive content OFF

    Also turn off Show in media timeline.
  3. 3

    Muted words

    Add sexual, drug, self-harm vocabulary.
  4. 4

    Direct Messages → restrict requests

    Turn off requests from everyone.
  5. 5

    Protect your posts

    Account becomes private.
  6. 6

    Discoverability OFF

    Stops strangers finding by email/phone.
