Twitch

Block adult streams and limit chat.

Why bother?

Twitch chat is the wild west. Adult streamers, hate speech and self-promotion DMs are common. These settings help a lot.

Do this, in order

    On the KID's account, click profile → Settings → Security and Privacy

    Scroll to Privacy.
  2. 2

    Set "Block Whispers from Strangers" to ON

    Strangers can't DM them.
  3. 3

    Set "Hide Progress" and "Hide Followed/Subscribed Channels" to ON

    Limits how strangers find them.
  4. 4

    Go to Settings → Notifications → Whispers → Friends only

    Same for Subscriber-only chat.
  5. 5

    On every stream they watch, click the gear → "Hide chat"

    Or move them to Twitch on mobile, which has cleaner controls.

    Block Mature Content prompts

    Profile → Settings → Content → set "Mature Content" defaults to OFF (re-confirmed on every adult stream).
  7. 7

    Bonus: SafeGuard blocks Twitch's front page & Browse

    They can still watch streamers they choose — just not the algorithm.
