Turn on Google SafeSearch

Filter explicit results out of Google search.

Why bother?

SafeSearch hides explicit text, images and videos on Google. Combined with router DNS protection it stops most accidental discoveries.

Do this, in order

    On the kid's account, go to google.com

    Sign in if not signed in.
  2. 2

    Click Settings → Search Settings

    Or go directly to google.com/preferences.
  3. 3

    Turn on Filter under SafeSearch

    Click Save at the bottom.
  4. 4

    Lock it via Family Link (Android/Chromebook)

    In Family Link → Controls → Google Search → SafeSearch ON.
  5. 5

    Lock it via Screen Time (iPhone/Mac)

    Content & Privacy → Web Content → Limit Adult Websites.
