Roblox

Set a Parent PIN, turn off chat with strangers, only allow age-appropriate games.

โฑ Takes about 5 minutes

Why bother?

Roblox has 70 million daily users โ€” most are kids, some aren't. Without a Parent PIN, your child can talk to anyone and play 18+ games.

Do this, in order

  1. 1

Sit at a computer with your kid

Go to roblox.com and sign into their account.
  2. 2

Click the gear icon, top-right โ†’ Settings

Then click Security on the left.
  3. 3

Verify your kid's age is set correctly

If it says they're 13+ when they're 10, fix it โ€” restrictions only work properly with the real age.
  4. 4

    Add a parent email

Account Info โ†’ Parent Email. Use YOUR email, not theirs. This is how you'll receive PIN reset links.
  5. 5

Go to Settings โ†’ Parental Controls

Turn on Account PIN. Pick 4 digits the kid doesn't know.
  6. 6

    Turn on Account Restrictions

This limits them to a curated list of safer games and disables chat with strangers.
  7. 7

    Go to Privacy

Set Who can chat with me to Friends only (or No one).
  8. 8

Set Who can message me to Friends

Same for Who can invite me to private servers.
  9. 9

    Test it

Log out, log back in as them, try to change a setting โ€” it should ask for the PIN.

You did it. ๐ŸŽ‰

Tell your kid you set this up, and why. It works way better when it's not a secret.
