Meta Family Center settings for teens.

Why bother?

Most teens aren't on Facebook anymore — but Messenger and Marketplace still attract strangers. Family Center covers both.

Do this, in order

    Go to familycenter.meta.com

    Sign in with your Facebook account.
  2. 2

    Tap Add Account

    Send the invite to your teen — they accept on their phone.
  3. 3

    On THEIR phone, open Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings

    Tap Profile and tagging.
  4. 4

    Set "Who can post on your profile" to Only me

    Stops randoms tagging junk on their wall.
  5. 5

    Settings → Public posts → Comment Defaults: Friends

    No strangers commenting.
  6. 6

    Settings → Reels & short videos → Restrict reels

    Filters out adult content in Reels.
  7. 7

    Messenger → Settings → Privacy → Message delivery

    Set People you may know and Others on Facebook to Don't receive requests.
  8. 8

    Turn off Marketplace if they don't need it

    Settings → Account → deactivate Marketplace. Avoids scams and creeps.
