❓ Do I need my child's device?
Usually yes — but you can start from your own. You can begin setup from your own iPhone, iPad, or computer. However, most protections require temporary access to your child's device during setup.
Examples:
- ✓ Home Wi-Fi protection can be configured from the parent's device.
- ✓ Family Sharing can be created from the parent's device.
- ✓ Screen Time, Safari restrictions, browser protection and verification usually require temporary access to the child's device.
After setup is complete, most day-to-day management can be done from the parent's device.
